My Story
Like most of you I work A LOT to live the american dream. In 2006 my husband and I both experienced a layoff and I took the opportunity to follow a new path. I went back to school and in 2009, during the recession, I opened my salon and spa. With hard work and many hours I made it to my 2 year mark, but I was just breaking even. This meant Jason and I had to pick up extra work just to make ends meet. 4 jobs for me and 2 for him so I could follow my dream was taking a toll on us emotionally and physically.
We were bankrupt in every essence of the word. We were battling daily to keep it all together, our lifestyle that we had grown accustomed to, our physical and mental health, and even our marriage was on the verge of collapse.
Fast Forward
First let me say, it wasn't easy. It took a lot of hard work. Meetings with accountants, financial advisors, business coaches hours upon hours of hard work. This rebuild has been just that, but like any strong building we had a solid foundation of faith in each other and our goals. Together we are building the life of our dreams and it has been worth every ounce of work.
Giving Back
2020 to say the least has been interesting, and building a business and starting a non profit has been a challenge. But when you can say in just a few short months you have raised over $4000 to donate to charities you love it makes it worth the time invested.
